Visiting Artist Laylah Ali
Free Lecture at UMFA

Visiting Artist Talk: Laylah Ali at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Enjoy a free public lecture by contemporary artist Laylah Ali, presented by the University of Utah Department of Art & Art History as part of the Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Based in Massachusetts, Laylah Ali creates precise, small, figurative gouache paintings on paper. Ali often juxtaposes brightly colored scenes with dark, sometimes violent subject matter that speaks of political resistance, social relationships, and betrayal.
