Wasatch Canyons General Plans

This afternoon, Mayor Peter Corroon and Salt Lake County planners will announce the launch of general plans for Parleys, Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyons.

An important component of developing these general plans includes public participation that will begin at the first of at least three open houses.

The event near Parley’s Canyon and overlooking the valley is designed to explain the general planning process and acknowledge a number of other canyon planning projects currently underway by the County.

General plans are guiding documents for all future planning to occur in a particular area, in this case our east side canyons. A list of general plans Salt Lake County has completed can be found here.

Directions from Salt Lake City:
• Take I-80 East
• Merge onto I-215
• Exit 3300 South East (Left) off freeway
• Go through traffic light
• Turn Left
• Trailhead is at end of road
