Teams Begin Qualifying For
Babe Ruth World Series

Seven teams have qualified for this month’s Babe Ruth Baseball 14-year old World Series in Murray. Geographically they span 3,000 miles from the L.A. Basin in southern California on the west coast to Southbury, Connecticut in the northeast.

Playoffs continue to fill the final three spots in the 10 team tournament field. All regions in the nation will be represented. Each team consists of more than a dozen boys.

Teams earning spots in the tournament include:
     • Newberg Blue Crush (Newburg, Indiana)
     • Bomber All Stars (Mountain Home, Arkansas)
     • Vernal 14-year olds (Vernal, Utah) Utah State Champions
     • Murray All Stars (Murray, Utah, host team)
     • Southbury Babe Ruth (Southbury, Connecticut)
     • Twin Cities Babe Ruth (Twin City, Washington)
     • West Chester Babe Ruth (Westchester, California)

The tournament runs Saturday, August 18 through Saturday, August 25 at Murray’s Ken Price Park. The Governor will throw out the first pitch at 3 p.m. on the opening day.

Organizers continue to seek host families to house from 2-4 boys for up to ten nights during the tournament.
