Babe Ruth Baseball World Series

The field has been completed for the Babe Ruth Baseball 14-year old World Series in Murray. Geographically the ten teams span 3,000 miles from the L.A. Basin in southern California on the west coast to Southbury, Connecticut in the northeast.

The tournament runs Saturday, August 18 through Saturday, August 25 at Murray’s Ken Price Park. The Governor will throw out the first pitch at 3 p.m. on the opening day. All regions in the nation will be represented. Each team consists of more than a dozen boys.

Teams earning spots in the tournament include:
     • Newberg Blue Crush (Newburg, Indiana)
     • Bomber All Stars (Mountain Home, Arkansas)
     • Vernal 14-year olds (Vernal, Utah)
     • Murray All Stars (Murray, Utah, host team)
        Utah State Champions
     • Southbury Babe Ruth (Southbury, Connecticut)
     • Twin Cities Babe Ruth (Twin City, Washington)
     • West Chester Babe Ruth (Westchester, California)
     • Branchburg Baseball Club (Branchburg, New Jersey)
     • San Jose AA Cal Ripken League (San Jose, Florida)
     • Mineral Area Babe Ruth League (Mineral Area, Mo)

Organizers continue to seek host families to house from 2-4 boys for up to ten nights during the tournament.

This will be the second Babe Ruth World Series to be hosted by Murray City. In 2009 Murray held the series to a crowd of more than 50,000 over the course of the event.
